Secondly, got to play Crysis and Starcraft 2. Both are looking good, but Starcraft is a long long way off (as in Spring of 08 at the earliest). The doods manning the booth mentioned that the unit list for the game wasn't even solidified, yet there it was with Protoss walkers burning everything in sight (only to be obliterated by a single flying unit).
Crysis, for all it's nano-suit trappings, was just more Farcry. I don't think it will have the WOW factor the original one did, but will it be the best single player FPS for the next 2-3 years? Absolutely. Multiplayer was highly addictive and crazy without the pointless slop of gravity gun dominated Half-life 2 multiplayer.
As for the non-electronic games, my favorite find of the con was a 20$ reprint of Condotiere by Fantasy Flight. It's a solid bidding game with beautiful artwork and great bluffing.
I didn't win the Shadowfist tournament, which I expected; having played only about 5 times in the last 6 months, but a Wisconsonite did win and proved that Char is still all the Architects really need.
I for one just want it to be the best goddamn multiplayer Deathmatch game there is after the abject failures in this area from id and Raven. Where is American McGee when you need him?

I simply can't stop and it's just the demo. Fans of Quake 3 DM (who isn't?) will be very happy about the changes to UT3. I know here at the LAN peoples want to play TF2 and other gaymes, but I just keep leaning for more more more UT3.
